My 18 yr old daughter made me a beautiful blanket. My 16 yr old daughter was at a friends house the night before but made sure she called just after midnight and then went with me to spend time with my mom at the long term care facility where she lives. It was an awesome unselfish thing for her to do

My son is too little to do anything on his own, but I was honored on Mother’s Day by my sons stepmother. She’s an amazing woman and we have a very non-traditional relationship. Most people don’t understand it, but it works for us. Anyway, she made sure to take my son shopping for me and I had beautiful gifts to open on Sunday. She and my ex-husband also took my son Sunday evening so that I could have some “me time”. I had the best of both worlds on Mother’s Day – good quality time with my son and then quiet me time. :)

I took my mom to Calloways and let her pick out as many plants/flowers as she wanted. We planted them together after we got home. It was great spending time with her. I also made a delicious dinner for her. All of her favorites. She has always been there for me so it’s nice to be able to show her how much I love and appreciate her.

My kids made me some crafts using their little hands. They sent to get pampered at a nail salon and in the afternoon, they along with other friends had a surprised banquet waiting for me and my other friends :) It was special to see all the work involved in the surprise.

This Mother’s Day was my first as a mommy. We had my mom and 87 year old grandmother over and we cooked them breakfast and talked about good memories. That afternoon we went to my in laws to BBQ and swim. It was a very nice and relaxing first Mother’s Day :)

My mother in-law took my daughter to color me mine and had her paint me a plate and a princess. They kept it a secret for about two weeks and then gave me the present on Mother’s Day. It was so special to see the look on my 4 year olds face of pride of what she had accomplished.

My almost 5 year old son made a surprise breakfast for myself, my hubby, and his twin sister all by himself for the very first time. My daughter and I were served yogurt and my husband was served graham crackers. He also poured the OJ for everyone at the table. It was such a wonderful breakfast that morning!

All of the men and the kids, on my husband’s side of the family, made all of us Moms an amazing brunch. My 12-yr old was in charge of writing down how the moms wanted their eggs cooked ( and this even included omelettes!), my 10 yr old helped cook bacon and my 7 yr old was in charge of telling people when things popped out of the toaster! We feasted on eggs, hashbrowns, donuts, coffee cakes, muffins, toast, 5 different kinds of fruit, and more. Once the meal was completed, my children each gave me a flower, a homemade card and hugs and kisses! It was wonderful! (Yes, the guys and kids all cleaned everything up as well! Mom’s weren’t allowed to!)

I was able to have Mother’s Day with my Mom for the first time in 33 years. She is in NY , I am in Ca., my children are always in school and could never travel during May. My oldest was married this year and my youngest away at college for her freshmen year. It was so special to be there with her this year, she has had some health issues, so it was even more important to treasure every moment.
